XP128 Channel Host Adapters address loop IDs

Hi,

I have an XP128 and added a second pair of FC Adapters.(WP461-F SH281-A Shortwave 1-2gbps)

When the adapters were checked in command view I noticed that the Address loop ID are diffent port by port.

The first pair have channel loop id EF0 in all 8 ports. In new ports have the following:

Card 1D
1st port E1(4)
2nd port E0(5)
3rd port DC(6)
4th port DA(7)

Card 2J
1st port C9(20)
2nd port C7(21)
3rd port C6(22)
4th port C5(23)

Is this normal or should loop address be the same in all ports, like the first pair?

Can someone help me?

Thanks,

John

Re: XP128 Channel Host Adapters address loop IDs

Hi John,

It is standard to put different Loop ID's on the different CHIP ports. This prevents problems if the ports are on the same switch.

Sincerely,

Curt
