XP24000 disk utilization problem
Hi
I have a RX8640 connected to dual XP24000 via Cisco MDS9506. HBA:s is 2x2GBit/s. Runs HPUX 11.23 and Autopath. System runs Progress database on mirrored luns (mirrored between the two XP's). We get disk utilization alerts within HP Operations and sar -d confirms we have high utilization but queues and waits seems alright i guess.

I have tried changing autopath load balancing policy between RR (round robin) and OFF.

Re: XP24000 disk utilization problem
Since the XP is completely 4Gb/s why not upgrading your HBAs to 4 or even 8 Gb/S?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: XP24000 disk utilization problem
Because max utilization on FC links never exceeds 800Mbit/s so clearly not a bottleneck there.

Re: XP24000 disk utilization problem
It can depends on a lot of things - XP disk configuration (RAID1 vs. RAID5; 2D+2D; 6D+2D, etc.); high performance vs. normal mode; port mappings, switch ports; LVM configuration, etc...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
