Re: add disk enclosure to eva 5000

Did you add the enclosures with the disks inserted?

You should not "need" a license to add a disk shelf. You can add up to 18 disk shelves.

Re: add disk enclosure to eva 5000

yes i added the enclosure with the disk inside then i powered on the eva.
this enclosure were used on another eva and the disk groups and volumes that exists in the old eva were not deleted before removing the enclosure.

Re: add disk enclosure to eva 5000

To be safe... i'd probably shut down the EVA, removet he old drives (The ones in the shelves you've added, then power back up the EVA.

make sure the EVA caomes back online properly.

Add one drive at a time, waiting 60 to 90 seconds in-between.

Re: add disk enclosure to eva 5000

the problem was that the disks contain metadata and even when i insert the disks one by one the problem persist because the controller is detecting 2 systems the solution was is in inserting the first disk and adding the disk to a disk group before inserting the second disk which format the disk
