business copy reverse sync
HI,
We have an XP512, connected to a primary & secondary server, in a business copy config. Our current situation requires
that we reverse syn the secondary server with the primary server. Is it possible to sync only specific lvols within a
vg. For exampl we have a vg consisting of 10 lvols, but only 8 of the lvols must be reverse synced. Do we simply edit
the vgname.pre-restore.map file & remove the 2 lvols? Please advise, thanks in advance!

Re: business copy reverse sync
Business copy is operating at the raw disk level - it has no concept or understanding of volume groups or logical volumes, except for what you tell it by grouping disks in the horcmX.conf files.
The minimum unit for splitting/syncing disks is at the volume group level, as otherwise volume group headers would be out of sync with each other - its certainly not possible to keep certain LVs in a volume group if you sync back from your SVOL.
I have no idea what the 'vgname.pre-restore.map' file is - maybe its something bespoke to your site.
