compaq ML570 and netserver RACK storage 12

Hi all

i have the following
Ml570 server with Smart array 532 connected to a Netserver Rack storage.
the problem is the following
when i add more than 6 harddrives to the encluser the samrt array hangs on boot
the maximum drives that workd fine is 6
i checked the scsi controller on the storage and it is simplex that should take up to 12 hard drive , the smart array support up tp 28 hard drive.
so can any one help me out
