Re: configering EVA 8100
As I understand Command View EVA has to installed on a desktop /server and it is a off array management software .I want to know how can I directly manage EVA (say just by giving it's IP address in IE and connecting to EVA Web console ,similar to Remote Web Console for XP arrays ) ?

Re: configering EVA 8100
The EVA are a completly different array to the XP's, in every way.
The only way to manage the EVAx100 array's is via command view which, as you have said, must be installed on a server which has FC connection to array. The EVAx400 have an onboard managment interface which you can browse to.
You should have recieved the CV S/W Cd's with the array if you purchased it, if not you can download a free trial version from the link below. Be aware that this will expire after 120days and you will not be able to manage your array untill you install the full licence.

hope this helps.

Re: configering EVA 8100
Have you noticed that there are NO LAN ports on the EVA controllers?
The only connections are fiber channel, so the management is in-band.
The only EVA with out-of-band management is the 4400, with the embedded CV 8.1.

Re: configering EVA 8100
https://ip_address:2373
For all other EVA's and available on EVA4400 as well, you install Command View on a fibre attached server. Then you can web into Command View...

Also, the Command View software suite includes a command line scripting utility called SSSU, Storage System Scripting Utility. SSSU can create vdisk, gather information and save the complete EVA configuration.
