connection between RX4610 and VA7100
hi team
we've got an rx4610 based itanium with linux red_hat 7.2 and av7100 connected to it via fc cards . we have installed SDM but we can't see our va7100 when we use cvui or gui sdm for example.
when we do armdiscover we have this message:
remote discovery failed with status:
the dal daemon is not running .the database content may not be current.
NB:diald and hostagent are running
THANKS

Re: connection between RX4610 and VA7100
Check that you have set Linux host port behavior for this host (using host behavior table) or set default Linux behavior;
You should create LUN 0 on the VA to allow management software to see it => LUN 0, size 10MB, permissions 'WC' and no user data on it;
Check with system diags is you can see LUNs configured on VA - if yes, then it's VA management software problem, if no - then FC/VA problem;
Try restarting opendial and hostagent daemons and issuing armdiscover again;
Check if opendial daemon is really running, and if it fails, check error code

Re: connection between RX4610 and VA7100
Here's a link to the docs for installing on Linux:
http://www.hp.com/cposupport/manual_set/lpg29236.pdf
Did you follow the directions and install the patches for SDM???
It sounds like you did everything else correctly.
Good luck!
