equivelant of EMC metalun on an XP array

I have only worked with EMC arrays(symmetrix,dmx,clariion,etc..). My new position has XP24000 arrays. They are thinking about using lvm striping. In the past, we stopped using lvm striping and utilized metaluns. What is the equivalent of metaluns on the XP arrays?

check this document to understand the LDEV (Logical device) Group of LDEVs join to gether to form a LUSE Volume.

LUSE is used for provisioning to the windows platform as windows does not have a dedicated Volume Manager...

Thanks for the articles.

Is there an equivelant of a striped metavolume on a XP24000?

Hi,
yes,
in the classical concept without the ThP the equivalent is LDEV interleaved concatenation (striping across up to 4x(7D+1P)=28D+4P - max.), with ThP, there is not such a limitation:

The wide striping looks great. Unfortunately, they didn't buy the license for Thin Provisioning.

Thanks
