Re: eva 6000 error adding disk to disk group

You cannot add a fibre channel disk (FC) to a "near online" (FATA) disk group - different technology.

Hope this helps!

Re: eva 6000 error adding disk to disk group

i need to ask you one more question i have added this fata disk to another disk group and now i need to remove it again so

can i ungroup it one by one, wait until it is ungrouped and than ungroup second, third, etc without waitting the leveling to finish?

or i have to ungroup the first one wait the leveling to finish then ungrouping the second one?

Hi,

You can ungroup the disk and need to wait till it will come under ungrouped disk, then you can remove another and so on..

You can remove the disk during the levelling period also.

hi again
when i ungroup a dik it give me the following options
1)ungroup in backgroud
2)ungroup and wait

Re: eva 6000 error adding disk to disk group

Hi,

The options mean:
1) ungroup in background : You can perform other activities in CV while ungrouping will continue in background.
2)ungroup and wait: CV will not allow you to perform other activities untill the ungrouping is completed.

In these choices, normally you should go for first one, unless you want to make sure that nothing else is executed in CV prior to ungrouping of disk is finished.

If u go for the first option then it will allow you to ungroup another disk, but this activity will be queued in CV and the ungrouping of the second disk will start once the previous activity is completed.

Re: eva 6000 error adding disk to disk group

many ressources suggest to wait the end of the first ungroup before proceeding with the second one.
why? what are the risks to queue many ungroup request?
