What's the status of the ldev's are they showing up as SMPL (simplex)? If so you should be able to delete them (in offline mode!).
The fact that the array says there's still a relation it could be you've used the split option instead of Split (S) option.
The pairsplit -S option will put both ldev's in SMPL mode.
Also it could be that the BC ldev has a "BC reserved" status (you could create a pool of ldev's reserved for BC use, these luns cannot be removed from a port).
