help with deleting LUNS on xp256

I am trying to delete some luns that are part of a business copy. The business copy is no longer in use, as in we just migrated it to an xp1024 this pas weekend. Whenever i try to delete the BC lun, it tells me i must delete the business copy pair first. I have deleted every refernce i can find for that pair thru business copy, and i am still getting the same message. I do not even see these ldevs in BC anymore, but i still cannot delete the lun on the BC side. Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Re: help with deleting LUNS on xp256

In case that BC is enabled, I split pairs first before deleting LUNs.
I also think that there should be no problems if there are no pairs in use.

Never say "no" first.

One more thing is to make sure no IOs on the port that are being modified.

Re: help with deleting LUNS on xp256

Hi,

What's the status of the ldev's are they showing up as SMPL (simplex)? If so you should be able to delete them (in offline mode!).
The fact that the array says there's still a relation it could be you've used the split option instead of Split (S) option.
The pairsplit -S option will put both ldev's in SMPL mode.

Also it could be that the BC ldev has a "BC reserved" status (you could create a pool of ldev's reserved for BC use, these luns cannot be removed from a port).

Hope this helps,

Mark
