how to connect my controller HSV 200A to my bay (P/N AD542B)

I have two controlers HSV 200 A (P/N AD525B)
And two bay P/N AD542B. So I need to install the two bay in mirror. My server is HP integrity rx6600.
I need any docs to connect the controler with the bay first and the controller with the san.

Hi,
it should be the HP StorageWorks EVA4000/6000-A Controller Pair

and
2 pieces of
HP StorageWorks M5314B FC Drive Enclosure

Here are EVA6000 supported configurations:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00365588&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Hi,
this gives u needed info on what platform u can install the Command View EVA management server. From here you can initialize the EVA, create the disk groups, hosts and logical volumes (vdisks):

Re: how to connect my controller HSV 200A to my bay (P/N AD542B)

Hello,

you need a x86 server to install Command View EVA. See the documentation for supported windows versions. Your EVA modell can only be managed by Command View EVA.

Re: how to connect my controller HSV 200A to my bay (P/N AD542B)

Thank you,
I create the disk groups, hosts and logical volumes (vdisks)on the HP Storage System. And I declare the IP adress of my host HPUX system.
But on my hpux host, ioscan thas not give me any hardware path on hpux.
so I can not see the vdisks on the server.
I saw only the controlers.

Re: how to connect my controller HSV 200A to my bay (P/N AD542B)

Hi,

Are any errors shown within Command View EVA ? If the cache batteries have failed, then you will not see any Vdisks on any hosts.

Cheers,

Rob

Also, did you actually present the vdisks to the hosts ?

Re: how to connect my controller HSV 200A to my bay (P/N AD542B)

Let's say your hp-ux host has fcd devices, e.g.
/dev/fcd0

get the port WWN
# fcmsutil /dev/fcd0

and present your vdisk to this WWN.

Caution: make sure to present in hp-ux mode!

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hi,

If the cache batteries have failed, then you will not see any Vdisks. They must be replaced.

Cheers,
