how to merge MA8000 disk partion? can u provide me manual guide?

i have a old storage MA8000 which runs database oracle,but it's partion d: too small to hold my growing data.

how can i merge partion d: and e:,e: is empty.

two server (windows 2000 ad)+oracle 9i, microsoft cluster.

If your disks are dynamic, you can use the windows disk manager to extend your partition. This will be a "software" solution and you could have performance degradation.

If both units are in the MA8000, and depending of the number of disks on each UNIT, you could create a concatset. This will be hardware based solution and you should get better performance.

The maximum number of disks in a concatset is 24 if i'm not wrong.

Then you have to use diskpart to extend your disk size in windows.

But dynamic disks are not supported in a Microsoft cluster, right?

Why mess with the system at such a deep level?

Last time I checked, an Oracle's tablespace could be made of multiple data files. Just put drive E: into the same cluster group like D: and start storing new data files on it.
