how to take ROM backup ?

i have smart array controller of hp 642 model . i had configure raid 5 on it with 3 logical volumes now due to some critical error i would like to replce it with unother controlle of hp is 640 but the problem is how to take backup of ROM configuration of HP 642 controller and restore it in to hp 640 controller so i can get same logical volumes and my o/s works smooth . The o/s is windows 2000. Pl. guide me . Is this possible ?

The configuration is stored on the disk drives, so the replacement controller should automatically pick it up.
