Re: hp storage problem
That is not correct. The MSA20 includes a SmartArray controller. One of the problems is that it requires another, supported SmartArray controller in the server to be manageable by ACU.

Re: hp storage problem
That mean the problem is in the controller that pluged in to the MSA20 enclousure, right.
And by this way we need to change just the controller.

Oops. Sorry my mistake there. I was getting confused with the MSA30, which is just a shelf, IIRC.
amirzkria: Can you confirm what interface the MSA20 is connected to in the ML350 G4p...

Re: hp storage problem
The interface is SCSI interface and the SCSI cable P/N: 313374-003.

Re: hp storage problem
...but what sort of card is that specifically ?
Take a look at the Quickspecs here:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12199_div/12199_div.HTML
and then scroll down to the External Storage section.
You'll see that an MSA20 must be connected to a Smart Array 6402 or 6404.
I suspect you're actually trying to connect it to either the embedded SCSI controller - connected via an internal-to-external cable, or a PCI SCSI card.
Cheers,
Rob

Re: hp storage problem
The interface or the sort of connection is via internal-to-external cable,
which mean thier is cable from the main board in SCSI CH1,CH2 to the tow raiser SCSI Connector, and then from it to the MSA20 through SCSI cable.

Re: hp storage problem
The choice you make will depend on whether you're planning to expand things further...
The 6402 has 2 channels, the 6404 has 4 channels.
If you're not planning any major expansion of the storage then you'll be fine with the 6402.
Regards,
Rob
