Re: hp va 7100

Hi,
no map means that the array is not configured.

Follow the flow chart in the link below

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpg28975/lpg28975.pdf

Re: hp va 7100

hi,

you can dowload the softwares here

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?〈=en&cc=us&prodNameId=30591&taskId=135&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=64112〈=en&cc=us

A failed controller means a defective controller. If you have a hw contract then HP must replace this controller

Re: hp va 7100

A failed controller could be caused by a faulty or completely depleted battery.
Can you post the output of the dsp -c -s command?

Re: hp va 7100

This is interesting:

"Code Mismatch".

Is there data on the array?
If not can you pull the handle for one controller (don't pull the controller out, just release the handle) and see if the other boots up ok.
Then shut it down and see if the other controller boots. For both output capture the dsp -c -f -d -e -L -s (one command)

CONTROLLER AT M/C1

I have never seen this before.
Did you add a second controller while the array was NOT running??

To try to fix it to the following:
connect your pc to C2 and boot from this single controller (handle C1 = pulled).

When its up and running, insert the C1 controller and watch if cloning starts.
Give it a couple of minutes.

Re: hp va 7100

hi there ..

I was trying to troubleshoot another VA, this time I connected one controller at a time .

on one of the controllers i got the following message

"tAbtrm:ab. ffff.10 "

can anyone throw some light as to why n how this happens ??
Srinivasa_6

Re: hp va 7100

ab.ffff.xx abterms usually indicate a failed controller hardware. Try power cycling the controllers once. If you run into the same termination again, its time to replace the controller hardware.
