iostat

Hi there!
The oracle9i database size is of 35GB and is installed on RAID05. Whenever I checked a with iostat, found out that sps is showing large ranging from 1000 to 1500.
Is there any implication(performance impact) showing such high sick per second and suggest some workaround solution.
