max. size logical drive on MSA1000

Hello,

On my MSA1000 I have 3718112MB unused space but can only create a logical drive of max. 2097151MB (RAID5 or 6, no difference). After that, I can create another drive with the remaining unused space? Is this the max. size of logical drives on a MSA1000? Can I do something to create a logical drive with all unused space?
(server is W2k3 Server)

It is a limit in the SCSI protocol:
2^32 blocks a' 512 byte = 2 TeraByte

But yes - you can create multiple logical drives in a disk drive array.

If you need a bigger drive... you will need to either span volumes or use something like HP Storageworks Virtual Replicator or Veritas(Symantec) Volume Manager to "pool" several smaller disks and then carve out one virtual drive.
