raw decice with lvm or raw device dsk

Hi !
I would wish to know because the writings are more faster on a raw disc /dev/rdsk/cxtxdx that on lv created on 4 disk strippe size 256k on virtual array box.

Hi,

The answer is it depends and largely on what type database you have and what type of disks (vendor and model) your using.

Now if your using oracle, then filesystems would be recommended. If your using Informix, then raw logical volumes would be the preference.
