Re: setting alias for a VA7110

Thanks Bernhard.

I have another question : in admmgr(1M) man pages, reference is made for the HP firmware version (HP11, HP15, etc.)

How can i find this firmware version ?

Re: setting alias for a VA7110

Cyril,

there is the armdsp command
e.g. armdsp -a (a like *all*)

gives you about anything you can list

therefore:
# armdsp -a VA_alias > /tmp/armdsp.out
# more /tmp/armdsp.out

Re: setting alias for a VA7110

All right Bernhard,

my firmware revision for my disks is HP03.
So i suppose i can only use the first syntax of the armmgr command ?

Re: setting alias for a VA7110

Cyril,

the differences in the armmgr command depends upon the firmware of the *controllers*, the disk fw has nothing to do with command interpretation.

I believe it is armdsp -c (c like controller) that gives you information on controllers only.

Re: setting alias for a VA7110

Bernhard,

i only have 2 lines speaking of firmware version :

Firmware Revision:____________________38370A100P0109031436
Battery Charger Firmware Revision:____5.0

As you can see, the fw version is an infamous number. Nothing to done with those mentioned in armmgr(1M).

Re: setting alias for a VA7110

Cyril,

yes fw numbering has changed for the VA7x10 models.

Actually you do have firmware A100 - this is part of the "firmware revision" string.

I guess A100 is more or less equivalent to HP18 or HP19 for the VA7x00 models.
