Hi.
are there an option that I can tell to the EVA3000 to create the snapshot in a diferent disk group by default than the original. It is using VCS 3020. It happens that when data protector try to create snapshots it try to create then in the original disk group "nearly full" and the backup fail.
Thanks for any help

Solution
Juan,
unfortunately, a snapshot is still limited to the same disk group as the parent disk. Are you using 'traditional' (=fully allocated) snapshots or 'Vsnaps / virtually capacity free' (=on-demand) snapshots. The first one is allocating the same space as the parent disk, but the second one grows as-needed.
You could also try a snapclone if there is enough space in the other disk group, because they can now be created cross-group. And you could check if you can move disks from the other group to the space limited one, but I would not move disks fourth and back just for backups.
Finally, you can consider a 'cross-VRAID' snapshot. That is a snapshot with a lower VRAID than the original virtual disk, but please note that VRAID-0 snapshots should not be used on VCS V3.020.
