staggered disk power on in EVA 4000

Hi,

can anybody tell me if HP EVA 4000 disk arrays (HSV200 controllers) or the disk enclosures implement some kind of staggered disk power-on, to limit the switch-on surge? If not, do HSV200 successors?

Thanks for sharing your opinion,

Regards, Tom

Hello, do you have problemy with power during startup? Or just wondering? In early moments after start older EVA's could draw really high current, depending on disk count. It is recomended you use electrical fuse with slow characteristics to handle any short term peaks.

In newer EVA it should be better as they use low power hungry drives.
