swapping drives

We currently are using 3200 controllers, but are buying more servers. What happens if we move drives from one server to another that has a different controller card? Can we just move the drive/cage like we have before or will we need to reconfig the drives?

You can move the drives to another server with a different controller card but the harddrives must be kept in the same order and scsi id placement. NOTE: In all Compaq hotplug cages the drive cage determines the scsi id.

The Controller must also be another Smart 3200 or newer . Also the drive cage must be the same for the hard drives . You cannot install a Wide Ultra SCSI-3 pluggable drive in an Ultra2/Ultra3 Pluggable drive cage .
