unit id lost after firmware upgrade 4.38 to 7.00 A/A for OpenVMS OS

unit id lost after firmware upgrade 4.38 to 7.00 A/A for OpenVMS OS

Hi,

we have an HP StorageWorks 1000 Modular Smart Array with two controller and OpenVMS OS. This controller had firmware 4.38.

I have update two controller with:

Type: Firmware Version: v7.00 A/A Firmware (19 Feb 2007) Operating System(s):OpenVMS v7, OpenVMS v8.2, OpenVMS v8.2-1, OpenVMS v8.3, Tru64 UNIX 5.x and controllers has lost  unit id configuration.

In the msa1000 front panel led we have 87 DRIVE POSITION CHANGE INVALID.  We have not changed position of disk.

I replace two controller with one controller with 4.38 firmware. Controller with 4.38 firmware correctly detect unit id and OpenVMS uses disks that don't work with two controller with 7.00 firmware.

Where is the problem?

Regards,
