D2D2502i question
Hi,
I'm new to D2D systems. We use a cifs share to write our backup to. Now the D2D is nearing its maximum capacity. Is there a way to cleanup the D2D? We use arcserve r15 as backup software. Maybe it's not intended to use the D2D this way? Would it be better to use the virtual tapes?
tnx.

Re: D2D2502i question
Martijn,
Here is a link to the D2D best practice document that might provide you some useful background information on your D2D and how to configure it for best performance and deduplication ratio etc. Possibly you are running out of space due to low deduplication ratio? Following some of the tips in this document might help you acheive better performance.

On your specific question regarding cleaning up the D2D.
Via the Web GUI you can delete your NAS share and create a new one. If you have space you can create an additional NAS share or VTL.
You can also reset your D2D to factory defaults via the GUI. This will reset the storage pool RAID to empty.
There is extensive help via the Web GUI and the user guide for your product is available at the following link (scroll down for user guides and choose your product) there is also a lot of other useful guides here.

Re: D2D2502i question
You can always use virtual tapes .
You can refer below docs for HP VLS
