Object copy performance with VLS6653 MSL4048 w LTO-4 drives

I have a customer using the 6653 with DP 6 and dual 4048 libraries with dual 1840 drives. There have been issues, most of which have been corrected. We are stuck on the throughput during Object copy. With encryption enabled at the drives, the typical performance is in the 70-77 mbps range. It's not enough to keep the drives from shoe shining. Is anyone running a similar setup that would share their experience?
