12H and a Jamaica (A3312A)

Hello!

I am moving from Jamaica Enclousers to a 12H, and would like to move the data over. Can I put both on the same SCSI chain? The Jamaica's are connected to HP-PB cards on a T600 with HP-UX 11i.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Emil

Re: 12H and a Jamaica (A3312A)

It almost sounds like you'd want to connect the 12H, migrate your data, then remove the jamaica from the system. So yes, I don't see why the 12H and Jamaica couldnt be on the same bus. Just make sure the SCSI ID's on the Jamaica won't conflict with the 12H controller.

Hope this helps,

Re: 12H and a Jamaica (A3312A)

Most all A3312A used FWD SCSI. All the 12H were FWD SCSI. Assuming your A3312A is FWD SCSI and they are all set to different addresses, then you can have them on the same bus, but it might be slower than if they were on separate busses.
