Can someone tell me the performance difference between a 300 Gig and 146 gig drive ?

I find one of the most important things when assesing this is how many LDEVs/LUNs you will carve out of each disk. E.g. if you normally carve up 10GB LDEVs then on the 146 disks you will get 14LDEVs and on the 300GB disks you will get 30. This will potentially place twice the load on the 300GB disks.

Normally seek time but transfer rate (MB/s) will be slightly higher for the larger disks due the data being more densly packed onto the tracks.

On my above reply I meant to say that normally seek time is the same due to the rotation speed etc, but transfer rate is often better on the larger disks.
