4300 enclosure migration
What array info is stored on disk? I tried to move a 4354 enclosure from a 5304-128 on ports 3 and 4 to a 6402 on ports 1 and 2, but the new controller would not see the logical drive.
I replaced the 6402 with another 5304 (using ports 3 and 4) and the drive was recognized with no problems.
Is there a way I can get the array recognized on ports 1 and 2?

Re: 4300 enclosure migration
It should work.
What kind of system do you use? Did you install the latest Bios?
Am I right, is the 4354 the only attached device to the 6402 controller?

Re: 4300 enclosure migration
Its a DL380 G3, with the latest bios. The 6402 also has the latest bios, and the 4354 is the only device that I attached to the 6402. (the enclosure is dual bus)
The disks never came out of the enclosure, so I know the order didn't change. I tried Scsi Bus A on port 1, Bus B on port 2, and then I tried reversing them. (same results)
I also tried a 5312 controller, and it gave the same results.
I wish I would have tried ports 1 and 2 on the 5304, but I was getting nervous about getting it going at all. :)
The system boots from the 5i on 3 disks (raid 5) on the server's disks, and the 4354 is used for data. (D drive)

Re: 4300 enclosure migration
What you also can try is to update the disk firmware with SP19682 when the enclosure is connected to the 5304 controller.
Otherwise I have no fr*ing clue........(YET)
