ACU Linux can't detect MSA1000/1500

Hi,

I have a MSA1000 and a MSA1500, both of them had been used for sometime. And ACU Linux(cpqacuxe) 7.17.1.0 can detect controller and config Luns before. Now I just can't detect any of the controller.

I have a Proliant/FCA2214 and a Itanium/A6826A, neither can use ACU to detect storage in Linux.

In Qlogic Utility (Ctl+Q in boot up system, i mean), I can see MSA controllers, but the LUNs have some I/O error when I try to do low level format:
scsi command error:04
scsi sense key:05
scsi additional sense code:20
scsi addtitonal sense code qulifier: 00

When I use modprobe qla2300, I got below error in dmesg:
Device sdd not ready.
end_request: I/O error, dev sdd, sector 0
Buffer I/O error on device sdd, logical block 0

Re: ACU Linux can't detect MSA1000/1500

I am not a Linux person but regardless, am wondering why you would want to do a low level format?

I assume the Linux ACU would be similar to the NetWare or Windows ACU's and that you basically select disks and create/modify arrays at a high level - there is no formatting involved.

I suppose there could be a fault in either the Fiberchannel optics, the MSA controller or maybe you should try a different HBA?
