Adding disc encl to EVA4100

Tomorrow I will add disk encl to eva4100 but I not sure of one thing.
I will have to add a part of CAB cable to connect new enclousure. It will require to remove one of terminators. Is it save and can be done online?
I see different opinions on the forum

HP is suggesting that you shutdown your EVA if you need to remove the termination device on the CAB bus.

I usually shutdown an EVA if I am upgrading and need to pull the terminator on the CAB bus. It just makes life easier.

I believe it's been done "online" before, but I can't vouch for the "ease" of such a method.

How many disk shevles do you have now on the EVA?

Re: Adding disc encl to EVA4100

Hi,

Removing Bottom Terminator of CAB Cable will lead to all Enclosure IDs to "0" so your command view EVA will not build the view properls (all hardware will move to Unmappable Hardware)

One more thing, you are going to remove only Top Terminator and i hope Enclosure IDs will not change as per my knowledge.

Even i have removed the bottom terminator(as a part of EVA upgrade with Expansion Rack) and didn't notice any issues.
