Adding disk to HASS (A3312A)

Hi,
I'm trying to increase disk capacity of a HASS(A3312A), by adding two 18 GB disk (A5286A) but from now on these disk are not available. The replacement for this p/n are: A6537A Add
on 18.2GB 10K RPM Ultra3 SCSI Drive, but I'm not very sure if this disk will work in this enclosure. ??Does anybody know if there is any problem with this disk's for the HASS enclosure?. Thank's a lot

Re: Adding disk to HASS (A3312A)

Hello,

You cannot possibly connect that disk drive to your HASS array. That disk beelongs to the new DS2100 enclosure. It's Fast wide SCSI 3. You cannot use that harddrive.

Try to get your A5286A drive from another source or try to get it remarketed.

Re: Adding disk to HASS (A3312A)

There are several companies that have available re-manufactured A5286A's at very reasonable pricing. Check with your local resellers.

The HASS enclosure can not support the higher data rates of the new drives and 10K RPM drives will have short life because the enclosure can't handle the added heat load.
