Adding drive enclosure in 2C17D EVA5000
Hi,
I am trying to add 18th enclosure in my EVA5000 2C17D configuration. we got the loop failure errors on our EVA whenever i connect the loop cables at loop switches. i am surprised why we are getting this issue in it as i already added enclosures in our another EVA by online method.
plz help.

Re: Adding drive enclosure in 2C17D EVA5000
Maybe some I/O or disk on that new enclosure is causing that.
Also check that the enclosure is a M5314A and not a M5314C, we have had too many cases of people buying an enclosure for EVA4100/6100/8100 and installing it on an EVA3000/5000.

Re: Adding drive enclosure in 2C17D EVA5000
We have ordered 6 enclosures initially for upgrade 2C12D configuration to 2C18D configuration, but unfortunately we have added only 5 enclosures and one was left due to short shipment of one CAB cable. Now we have received a cab cable and going to add 18th enclosure. So there is no chance for compatibility issue of enclosure.
Yes secondly we observed a drive populated on 12th BAY in this enclosure having abnormal behavior. Its Fault and online LED's both ON (Green) when we added the drive in 12th Bay. So we have plugged out the drive but even then the problem is still there. For your information we have only populated 12 bays in the expansion rack enclosures.
