Array with two size diferentes hard disk

Hi,
I have:
1x Array Controller
1x hard disk 36GB
1x hard disk 72GB

Can I do RAID 1 with two disk?
Can I have any problem with diferent disks size?

Thank you!!!

Re: Array with two size diferentes hard disk

What array controller?
If it is a Smart Array controller you can set up a RAID1 but this will use the smaller disk size thus you will see 36GB net

Re: Array with two size diferentes hard disk

1. It is very much possible
2. However, you will not be using 36GB of the HDD with 72GB capacity
If you are keen to win, you should be willing to lose.

Re: Array with two size diferentes hard disk

You lose access to the 36GB space until you replace the 36GB drive with a 72GB drive.

ACU will not let you do anything with it. It will not even show in ACU.
