Re: Autoraid 12H Raidmanager software

Shalom,

There may be a solution in this previous thread:
http://forums2.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=187243

I've always been lazy and used LVM software to handle 12H devices. The default raid 5 doesn't make me happy, but I've had to live with it.

Re: Autoraid 12H Raidmanager software

At least for 11.11, this software is installed by default!

# man arraymgr

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Autoraid 12H Raidmanager software

The utilities arraycfg, arraydsp, arrayfmt, download ... are installed by default in 11.11 and can also be invoked under SAM -> Disks & Filesystems. However, note that the 12H (nor any other HVD SCSI devices) is supported under 11.23.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Autoraid 12H Raidmanager software

Thanks guys, i have found the software. Its is inside the OS core CD. Now, the server in question has'nt got a CD drive. What is the best way of transferring the required software to destination server?

Re: Autoraid 12H Raidmanager software

A very easy approach is to mount the CD on the remote machine and then export it via NFS. You then NFS mount the exported filesystem and from the perspective of your local box, it's essentially a local install.

Re: Autoraid 12H Raidmanager software

Another method is to swcopy the software to another host and swinstall from there.

I guess you will need patch PHCO_23263 - this is the manager software for the autoraid 12H with fw HP62.

Did you try
swlist -l fileset | grep 23263

IMHO, it should be there already in /opt/hparray/bin by default.

Hope this helps!
