Autoraid 12H data migration strategy

I know that the AutoRaid technology migrates RAID0/1 data to RAID5 whenever the ratio capacity/allocated falls under 50%.

If I increase capacity by replacing disks with higher capacity disk does AutoRaid migrate RAID5 data back to RAID/01 data ???

Simple isn't it? :-)

It's one of the easiest ways to increase RAID 0/1 space. This is done automatically, i.e. just wait for the rebuild to occur and viola. Remember to increase harddisks 1 disk at a time.

RAID 0/1 space can be increased by increasing the amount of unallocated capacity on the disk array.
Add a disk and leave it unallocated.
This is an effective way of increasing the amount of RAID 1/0 space available.

Be aware that you should add two at least high capacity disks to the array to use their entire capacity. In order words, If you add a single high capacity disk, the array will not be able to use its full capacity.

Hope this helps,
