Batteries replacement for smart array 6400
Hi Memebers,
I hv to replace the batteries of smart array 6400 controller.what are the considerations??to avoid the array configuration loss.I mean what is the safe procedure to replace batteries without losing any raid information...

If you correctly shutdown server, all data from controllers cache are wroten to the disk. Then you can replace batteries. All other configuration data (array configuration, etc.) are stored on the disks.
Special procedures are necessary only when unflushed data are in the cache memory.
