Best Monitoring Tool for an EVA.

We have been told that EMS does not do an accurate job of monitoring an EVA. Being new to the EVA, I am not too familiar with it or SecurePath. I heard that HP was developing a tool to monitor the EVA, but it is not yet available. What is the best tool/method for monitoring the EVA at the moment?
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this!
