Hello,
I just try to split a group in COPY state.
It results a PSUS-COPY state and the SVOL is usable (it may uses the PVOL like some kind of snapshot).
The HP document don't show this feature, is it supported by HP ?
Do you know if it is supported by SAP ?

Solution
Well, you just discovered the Quick Split option!
This is one of the beautiful XP features.
This feature is fully supported by HP.
SAP does not need to support this, because the XP handles everything transparent. The S-VOL presented to SAP is identical no matter if you do quick split or steady split.
In the case of quick split the updates are copied in the background. If you happen to access data in the S-VOL that is not copied yet, the XP will first copy that track and then service your IO.
Please read more in the BC manuals, section "Pairsplit Operation".
