CIM reporting thermal condition with device

Error Report: Internal Storage System Overheating (Slot 4, Zone Unknown, Location Storage, Temperature Unknown).

Strangely enough, the errors seem to occur in patterns. The last seven occured at exactly 11:12pm for seven days in a row.

I have removed the case cover to see if any fans have failed and all are working normally. The inside of the case is not hot by any means. The only devices off this controller are two 9.1gb Ultra2 10K drives in the internal bays. This error is the only error reported by CIM regarding this server.

Question: What is causing is this error and is it a false alarm due to a bug in the firmware or a failing thermistor?

Thanks,
Tony Skinner

Re: CIM reporting thermal condition with device

Ok - the firmware image on the integrated array must be newer then 1.46. The other thing to try is to update the Agents to a newer version - all of which are found from on the web. Good Luck and post back if you have any other questions. Also, let us know success or failure.
