Change hot spare on VA7410
Hello. We have hp Virtual Array 7410 in RAID 0+1 mode.
Hot spare mode was set to Automatic so Active spare = 66Gb on RG1 and RG2.
We change hot spare mode to LargestDisk, but do not see changes.
What is the sequence of actions for reduce Active spare?
Do we need manual rebuild for this?
Or is only whole array reformatting will change the Active spare?

Re: Change hot spare on VA7410
You did not say how many disks of what type you have installed in each RG. It seems you have 72GB disks installed thus 66GB spare space per RG.
Automatic hot spare will assign the capacity of one disk up to 15 installed disks per RG and 2 with >15 disks. But this is only true if your VA is set to autoRaid!
You are running in RAID01 so sparing will not change!Read more in the "VA service and user guide" topic Operating tips!
Cheers Peter

We don't have 72 Gb disks
RG1: 13 disks x 36 Gb
RG2: 12 disks x 36 Gb
RG1: 13 disks x 36 Gb
RG2: 12 disks x 36 Gb
