Changing hostname with EVA5000

There's no problem re-naming Virtual Disk folder names and Vdisks on the fly with a live system as these are just part of the user interface.

Is it safe to do the same with hostnames (presentation destinations) ?

The hosts are not changing names themselves, but they were introduced to command-eva as RP2470, RP5470 ... rather than their actual hostnames and I want to correct this without the systems noticing.

Hi David,

There is no problem when you change the hostnames on commandview.
Just don't change the WWN of the fiber cards

It's easy to find a vdisk to play with and prove it's ok, not so easy to find a spare host ...
