http://www.webware.hp.com
2. You can use any ports to be ISLs, but remember the switch domains must be different and the PID formats must be the same BEFORE you connect the two switches.

Re: Command View Licensing + ISL Connectivity in Fabric
Just in case of a HP StorageWorks 4/8 Base SAN Switch A7984A you need to purchase a license.
See
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/storage/saninfrastructure/switches/sanswitch48/index.html
"The 4/8 Base model provides single-switch connectivity for a new, simple SAN installation and connects to storage and servers only"
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12345_div/12345_div.html
"An optional Power Pack software bundle can be purchased separately and includes Fabric Watch, ISL Trunking, Extended Fabric and Advanced Performance Monitor."
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
