CommandView 7.0 service won't start on Windows 2003 SP2

Hello.

We have a CommandView 7.0 management server (Windows 2003 SP2)
with QLOGIC qle2460 (PCI Express) 4GB 1 port FC HBA
The management server is connected to the EVA4100 direct-connect.

When HP H/W tech was onsite, I had the management server installed w/CommandView 7.0.

I loaded the HBA drivers, got the right SCSI array firmware in order to "see" the HP HSV200 storage array (EVA4100)

The tech & I connected to the EVA4100 from the management server and created a group.

Rebooted the management server and then the HP CommandView 7.0 service will no longer start.

Since this issue occurred, I have:

- completely uninstalled CommandView 7.0 software suite
- rebooted the server
- "Custom installed" CommandView w/o SMI, etc.

CommandView 7.0 Service still will not start.

Event Viewer-No errors/only informational messages.

I had checked for EVA4100/Commandview 7.0 patches/firmware and thought that we were up to date on this.

Does anyone else have any experience with an issue like this?

Please help.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Re: CommandView 7.0 service won't start on Windows 2003 SP2

Hi Cara,

Occasionally the state of the HSV controllers in the EVA can prevent Command View EVA from starting correctly...

Try restarting the controllers in the EVA, one at a time, and see if that makes any difference.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
