Compatibility beetween FWD Disk Drive and FW SCSI interface

We have a R380 server running HP-UX 10.2 with a GSC Fast/Wide SCSI interface card

Can I connect a HPA5286A FWD Disk Drive to this server ?

yes, this is a low profile FWD hot-plug disk for use in the A3312A HASS system (Jamaica).

the HASS can be connected to a GSC or HSC FWD SCSI card.

Bernhard is correct, however, you can also put this drive in your hotplug internal drive slots.

Actually no, you can't put a A5286A FWD hot swap drive into the R class servers. You can put the A5286A internal into the D class servers. The 18GB internal drive you need for the R class servers are the A5789A 18GB single ended fixed disk and these are not a hot swap disk drive.

My mistake, I misread the message, I thought it was about a D380. Jesse is correct, the A5286A cannot go internal on an R-class
