Configure XP 12000 for Vmotion
Hello all!
I have a problem with the configuration of our HP Storageworks XP 12000 disk array for Vmware Vmotion.
It wouldn't have been a problem, if I hadn't installed the system on SAN disks or disks in the disk array ;-)
I have no clue how to configure the XP to share the VMFS disks because I am not able to add the HBA WWN to a second hostgroup in the disk array. I receive the error message that it is not allowed to add the same WWN to a second hostgroup.
Does anyone of you have successfully configured an XP for Vmotion and if yes, how?
Thank you in advance!
Rgds,
Philipp

Re: Configure XP 12000 for Vmotion
I am novoice for vmware but sure from the XP side is that it won't allow you to use the same WWN under the same host group. Other option is to use another port and present the same LDEV (with same LUN) to duplicate WWN. You will need to have another connection run to XP port.
