Connecting an EVA5000 to a UPS supply.

Is there any documentation, or are there any issues to be aware of when connecting an EVA5000 to a UPS supply?
Thanks
Geoff

Hi Geoff,

I'm not aware of any particular issues.
Just make sure that you size the UPS correctly.

Depending on what UPS you're using, you probably also want to ensure that it can accept IEC-309 32A connectors.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Rob

Re: Connecting an EVA5000 to a UPS supply.

There is a chapter in the EVA4/6/8000 User guide talking about UPS selection on page 159ff.
Your EVA5000 has the same specs as the EVA8000!
See http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01036931/c01036931.pdf

I would connect half of the power lines to the UPS and the other half to the tap.

Example:
Controller A, plug1 to USP, plug 2 to the tap.
Disk Enclosure 1, PS 1 to USP, PS2 to tap.

This way you survive a public power loss and the loss of the UPS!

Cheers
