DS2100 connected to a K460.

Hi guys!!

I am renting a DS2100 with two HD of 73GB that will be connected to a K460. Necessary to know if this connection it is compatible. In case that it is, which are the requirements (the hardware/slot/window...) for accomplishment of this service.

Thank's

Re: DS2100 connected to a K460.

The DS2100 and the disks are LVD SCSI devices, but there is NO controller for the K-Class server available. This won't work, unless you want to use it with only SE SCSI (5MB/s). Anyway, this is not supported.

Hope this helps!

Re: DS2100 connected to a K460.

I ran into this same problem on a K390. I could not find any way to get the DS2100 to work properly. I ended up finding a used H12 auto aray. Seeing that my K390 was only a test machine, I didn't care if was supported.

Re: DS2100 connected to a K460.

The old K-Class systems are using proprietary internal busses and IO card connectors (HP-PB and HP-HSC) - no PCI.
There were only HVD SCSI or SE SCSI controllers available, no LVD cards at all. You have no chance to connect a LVD device to your server, unless you are using any third party HVD to LVD converter. But I won't use this in a productive environment.

Hope this helps!
