Data Recovery
With a 3200 setup for a single array RAID 0+1 with four 9.1 10k rpm drives; if the the OS becomes corrupt because of the mirroring of course it will not boot even from the mirror as it will also mirror the damage or deletion. (There is no second or mainteance OS setup on the production drives.)
But data and applications will still be intact.
What is the best means of repairing the OS or recovering the data. Can you install a set of Maintenance drives (Raid 0)in the array and and re-configure/ mount either the mirrored or boot pair so that it can be read by the maintance pair ( without losing the data) and then the shortest way to return that to operational status.(RAID 0+1)
Any assistance with the sequence would be of help as well as whether 'migration" under the newer arry controllers would make quick recovery possible.
Thanks.
