Decreasing logical disk size.

Decreasing logical disk size.

I installed an extra 9.1 Gb disk and expanded my logical drive (4*9.1 Gb
drive Raid 5).

I can not use the extra space that comes available on this logical
drive because it's not possible to enlarge the netware partition on the
logical drive or create a second partition on the same logical drive.

Is it possible to decrease the logical drive size (so it has the size of the
current netware partition thats on it) and use the space that
comes avialable to create a second logical drive - create a netware
partition on this logical drive - add a volume segment onto this

Any other options so i can use the extra space are also welcome
(i know about powerquest server magic)

I'm curious if this is possible.

Re: Decreasing logical disk size.

Good question!

But I don't know the answer. So, for argument's sake, I guess you could have configured the extra disk as a new logical drive. Then you could have spanned the existing Netware partition to the new logical. Or you could have used NSS to take advantage of the new space.

What version of Netware is this? I recommend scanning the knowlegebase on support.novell.com and calling the compaq support line. It's been a while since I did this on Netware, but if I find an answer - I'll post a reply.
